DreadTober - Power Up Sequence Complete

 

Whelp.. I'm calling it complete. I did some free hand on his left knee and his right shoulder. I'm pretty happy with the knee but the shoulder is a little wonky. The chipping on it made it look a little off to me. I've been going back and forth about it and whether I should redo it but I think I'm just going to let it sit for a little bit and come back to it and see how it sits with some time.

Him with all the different weapons attached.. I added a little more to the Volkite and while it looks ok I'm honestly still not loving it haha.. but I don't hate it so it will do.

Overall pretty happy with the way he came out and he'll mix in well with the rest of his RG crew. I'm going to have to reach out and try to get a game in soon 8).. 

It was nice taking part of DreadTober again this year and seeing all of the work getting knocked out. Awesome seeing all the different projects coming together. Talking to people about the projects and just looking at how different they all are. I'm going to be moving into full EC mode getting them painted up but if I'm going with the NMM it's going to take some time... I am going to start another EC Contemptor but I don't think I'll be getting him done by the end of DreadTober.

He wasn't done for DreadTober but I haven't put any full finished picture of the above guys brother so I figured I'd throw some on here. Dreads for Dread sake.

DreadTober - Power Fist

 

This week was pretty busy so didn't get to work much on the Dread. I did finish out the power fist and started the repaint of the Volcite to blue instead of the yellow/red. The Volcite is drying so I have the Melta on it for these pictures.

I'm still layering up the base rust so it's getting close to being done. It has a layer drying right now.

He's pretty close to being done.. I'm still figuring out the right shoulder and the left knee pad. Otherwise pretty happy with him.

The DragonForge bases came in so I have been working on those and the EC a bit ..

DreadTober - Powering Up

 

The base layer of Enamels and Oils have been applied and I'm in the process of layering up the rust on the base. Now it's the details and other other adds I'm debating on. 

I'm on the fence with the Volkite .. not sure if I'm feeling the colors. Kind of the same I was feeling about the red-yellow on the sword. It needs more for sure but I'm in debate on if I like it and should continue haha.. I didn't want to just go with the blue-white glow but I might just have to go back to it. I think the colors are just looking weird together. I don't even know how to explain it..  

The side of the Volkite looks better I think.. but still kinda meh.. I'm also thinking about doing something on the right shoulder. Some freehand or something to add a little more to it. Either way the line there is a place holder.

I'll be adding the blue white to the fist though.. the metal is just too plain. I'm going to go low key on the OSL because the arms are replaceable and the glow would have to move haha...

I'm thinking I'll have him done next week.. depending on how much time I have. I have to make my daughters Halloween Costume so that is going to take some of the time.

The DragonForge bases came in so I can start on the EC dread as well. We'll see if I can rock him out as well but things are going to start getting busy.

He's fully based out and blended.. he's blended high and is now gloss cleared waiting for the enamels and oils. I've painted so many Raven Guard at this point I can rock them out in pretty quick order. It will be days of waiting for the layers to dry and then I'll be doing a little more details after ..

Once the enamels are applied it will bring the greys back down into blacks. I should have taken some pics before the gloss was applied but forgot so there is a bunch of shine haha whoops.. He's coming along well.. I'll be working on his arms while the oils dry.

More work on the NMM and the Saber .. I want to go with something different for the Charnabal Sabers. I dont just want a power weapon glow. I'm still up in the air as to whether I actually like it though. I dont want it to look like fire which now it really has the feel. Maybe I'll change the colors to see if that helps. Who knows haha.. but at least my Dragonforge bases shipped so they should be here soonish ..
