Nothing too exciting today. I put about an hour into this guy getting the base colors on him last night, some minor blending but not much. I was going to go with the red feathers but I'm not really feeling it, it makes them look a little too.. well I really don't know but I'm not digging it. I'm probably just going to make them black with grey highlights. I'll probably add some brown to the parchment of the purity seals, right now they are pretty much blending in with his armour haha.. I really didn't have the energy to do too much last night, I'm still pretty tired from the weekend and then I had to go pick up another dishwasher. Ours was going up and my wife knows someone who was getting rid of theirs. We are planning on moving (hopefully) in the next few years so I wasn't worried about buying a new one. Last night I disconnected ours and took it outside, picked up the other one and put it in the kitchen. Tonight I'll have to hook it up, blah. But moving on here's his backside.. not much to see so far ..
I also measured up the area where my spray booth is and I'm going to design the shelves that will be holding it. I have a few ideas I want to include in it, mainly the spray area being closed off on the back and sides and places to attach lights. A decent play to mount the air compressor and storage on the bottom. It won't be that hard, I'll just need to buy the wood and it should only take me a few hours. I just have to find the free time..

Its Game Time
This weekend we had the 40K Tourney at Chucks Comics. It was a small event (only 6 players when one dropped out), sadly putting Josh in the alternate role haha) with mostly locals but the store likes to have some events run from time to time. There were a lot of beginners playing this time around, two had less then 5 games under their belt and another hadn't played a 6th Ed game yet. So it was a bit rough for them, Thom the eventual winner was playing the pretty standard Necron Stormlord Flyer Spam which they really were not ready for. Sean was playing a Dual Helldrake, dual Mfiend list which was also a very tough fight. Everyone seemed to have a very good time though, the beginners fought hard and hopefully learned a good bit getting in three games. The games went to 8:30 but I had started falling out around 7, my son had woke up at 4 that morning and wasn't going to let me get back to sleep. So it ended up being a very long day filled with a lot of information going back and forth. It was a good time and congrats to all who played and won. Here are a few more pictures..

Castle up!
Tomorrow I'll be running a Tourney at the local gaming/comic shop. As I've been running events there I try to paint up something new for each time we play so eventually all of the terrain is painted. I bring my stuff as well but I've now been painting up theirs, it doesn't take me too long in the scheme of things. In about 3 hours I finished two Bastions, a Fuel Depot and the Auto/Def guns. I create custom mission for the Tourneys to add a little extra fun, nice to not have to play the standard missions over and over. Plus it makes the person have to think about winning a different way sometimes. One of the missions I made this time uses a bastion in it. So i sprayed up the two they had at the shop.
They look very similar but one as a red door and the other green haha.. Mine is rocking a brassy kinda door.. which does need a little toning down not that I look at the picture
They are all quickly done but it adds some nice color and flavor to the board. They will also need guns so.
And maybe someone will need to fill up a tank or two.
Everything was done with the Airbrush, a little more detail would make them pop even more but I don't have the time to go too far with the terrain. The Fuel Depot was a nice mix in with the Bastions so I didn't get tired of painting the same thing over and over. Everything will need a coat of clear but otherwise they are ready to go .. well.. not go more like sit and provide cover.. well you know what I mean.
Some of the lighting on the pics might be off as I took the picks at the spray booth. And I knew it was bad before, as spraying on there can sometimes be a pain in the butt. Since I had to move my room around a bit they lighting situation hasn't been ideal. I've decided that the next thing I'm going to do is get that whole area situated. It's really annoying me and needs to be dealt with post haste.
I did get a little time to blend some of the Termies a little more. Tonight I'll clean these guys up and get everything tightened up for tomorrow. Everything is built up to be What you See now so it should be a little easier for my friend to use as he's just starting out.
