NOVA 2024 is only a week away and I'm all done with my prep. Which included painting up a whole army and retrofitting a display I was planning on taking last year but didn't happen do to health.
So I made up what I needed for a 3k list and started on making it happen. It was a pretty heavy undertaking for sure. I wanted to go with NMM for the models as I figured the gold would really pop for the Emperor's Children. A force of Loyal Emperor's Children, bringing revenge to all who would turn their back on the Emperor!
I wanted to go with my dirty worn look but it was a challenge with the third as they are supposed to be all polished up. That made the NMM tougher as I was trying to figure out how to dull it down. I go back and forth on it but I think it looks decent at least. But I now know why some of my quality painting friends saw they will never paint an army again. NMM takes a lot of time and painting up a whole army.
I really used these guys to try new and different effects (for me at least). I also did some freehand just for fun to add some flair.
I meant to take some solo model pics but forgot with other stuff happening. I'll probably get some there or later after and now I have them all packed up in their cases. They are ready to go. This is the earliest I've been done and ready for NOVA which is nice so I can rest a bit before going into it all.
some of the lighting... white light pulse and the landing pad red lights circle.
Beautiful army and display board, Todd! Your diorama displays, epic lighting effects, and stellar painting never ceases to impress & inspire!! This takes me back to the very first one of yours I ever saw -- the Eldar one w/ hovering platforms among the trees... still mind-blowing ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe! Much appreciated. I really do enjoy building stuff so it's always fun to make some extra and completely unique.
